Macleay Bible Church is About…
We gather as an informal branch of God’s family. We are about Him and His invitation toward us and others to be adopted into His family forever. We find that invitation in the Bible, God’s kind explanation of Himself, us, His purposes for us and all His creation both in this life, and the life He has promised to follow. We believe God sent Jesus His Son to live on earth among His creation 2000 years

ago. His mission: To bring about a way for once selfish and rebellious people to one day stand face to face with God, forgiven, loved and at peace forever. For more details about what God has done through Jesus the Christ, click on this sentence.

On Sundays we meet to worship God, with Hymns, Prayer, Reading His Word, and careful verse by verse Teaching from those Scriptures. Thus, we encourage, instruct, and equip one another to serve Him here until our day to enjoy God’s full presence comes.

As a fully volunteer church, part of serving God throughout the week involves caring for one another and preparing for our times together. We enjoy a mid-week home gathering to study the Bible, pray, and hang out. Many are involved in other weekly Bible Studies in their communities.

For those who like more formal details
Macleay Bible Church has been an independent, non-denominational, Bible Centered church since its founding in 1988. We are blessed to own and meet in the Old Macleay School House which provides a sanctuary and fellowship hall. We enjoy monthly potluck shared meals together and the Lord’s Table once a month as well. Most hymns are accompanied by piano. We do not take offerings or ‘ask for money’ yet by the Lord’s kindness remain debt free.

In recent years, our teaching Sunday mornings works through one book of the New Testament at a time with Old Testament readings when they help clarify the passage in focus. Since we live in the New Covenant era established by the death and resurrection of Jesus, we prioritize those books of the Bible written by the Apostles after Jesus came. Teachers do careful exegesis in advance stressing context and weighing input from solid evangelical exegetical Greek based commentaries. We try to be very honest with the text before the Lord and those
listening. When the original intent of a passage is unclear today, we present the concerns and often can point to clear parallel passages elsewhere to help us arrive at healthy applications. As each message ends, our teachers suggest possible applications in our lives today and close
in prayer asking God through His Spirit to help us respond well to what He says. There are no alter calls, no yelling, no manipulation. Rather we desire to ‘speak the truth in love’ while ‘proving to be examples to the flock.’ Please check out our Doctrinal Statement by clicking on

For families with small children
Although we have a separate church building and status as a nonprofit organization, we in many
ways are like a large house church. We love having families and children of all ages but we do
not have a staffed nursery, childcare program, or separate families during our services. We do
have a children’s table in the back of the sanctuary for kids to sit and work on arts and cra
fts and a small open-doored playroom with toys for toddlers supervised by a parent. We are also small enough to
adjust to the needs of individual families. That has included various shapes of Sunday School

led in the fellowship hall during the service.
